RCD And Fire alarm Information
It is now mandatory to have a minimum of 2 RCD's fitted.
To check wether your house has two RCD's fitted you will need to have a look inside your metre box there should be 2 larger type breakers with test buttons on them.
It is also mandatory that smoke alarms have to be hard wired and interconnected were possible, if a smoke alarm cannot be hard wired then a battery type smoke alarm can be used but the alarm has to have a non removable 10 year life span battery.
Smoke alarms have a shelf life of 10 years and should be replaced before their expiry date.
